Contributor guidelines
Write for us
We publish practical advice on SEO, AEO, GEO and AI search for people who do this work every day. If you have learned something first-hand, we would like to hear it.
Topics we want
These are examples, not a closed list. Every topic needs real work behind it, such as a test you ran or a project you can talk about.
Getting cited in AI answers
How a page got cited in AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT search or Perplexity. Tell us what you changed and what you measured.
Schema and entity tests
Structured data, entity and brand-fact experiments. Tests that did not work are welcome too.
AI content with human editing
How your team uses AI to research, draft or update content, and where people check the work.
Technical SEO for AI crawlers
Crawling, rendering, robots rules and log analysis for AI crawlers and search bots.
Design that changed results
Layout, copy and UX changes that moved conversions, with before-and-after data you are allowed to share.
Measuring AI search
Tracking AI referral visits and citations, building prompt sets and reporting AI search results to clients.
What a good pitch includes
We want to hear from people who do the work: in-house SEOs, agency leads, tool builders and researchers.
Every pitch needs proof. That can be your own data, a test you ran, screenshots or client results you have permission to share.
Please send ideas, not finished drafts. Use our contact page, pick Guest post pitch in the topic list and leave the budget blank.
Your pitch
- Three headline ideas.
- Two lines on each idea: the angle and the proof behind it.
- Two samples of your published writing.
- Your LinkedIn profile.
- Any ties to companies you plan to mention.
- Which AI tools you plan to use, if any.
Guidelines for contributors
What we do not accept
- Beginner overviews such as “what is SEO”.
- Drafts written fully by AI.
- Articles already published somewhere else, including on your own blog.
- Articles built around links instead of readers.
- Topics outside AI, SEO, AEO, marketing, design and SaaS. We do not publish casino, betting, crypto trading, CBD, adult, payday loan or essay mill content.
Standards
- Original and exclusive. Your article must be new and published only on AEO SEO.
- Sources cited. Link a source for every number, quote and claim that readers cannot check for themselves.
- AI help, checked by a person. You may use AI tools if a person checks every fact. Tell the editor which tools you used and how.
- Images you have the right to use. Use screenshots and images you own or have a license for.
Read our editorial policy to see how we check every article before it goes live.
Links policy
We link to sources that help readers, whoever owns them. Links that point to you or your company follow these rules:
- You get one link to your site or profile in your author bio. It is marked nofollow.
- Links to your own company in the article body need the editor’s approval. If approved, they are marked nofollow too.
- No keyword-stuffed anchor text. Link text should describe the page it points to.
- We may add, change or remove any link or rel attribute at any time.
We tag these links because Google’s spam policies list guest post links with optimized anchor text as link spam. Google has also warned sites that publish many guest posts without proper link tags. Tagging these links lowers the risk for your site and ours.
Money
We do not charge to publish contributor articles, and we do not pay for them.
Paid placements are a separate thing. Any paid article on this site is labeled Sponsored above the headline, and its links are marked sponsored. We do not sell link insertions.
If anyone offers to sell you a dofollow link or a link insertion on AEO SEO, it is not us. Please tell us through our contact page.
Disclosure
Tell us about any tie to a company you mention. That includes your employer, your clients and any tool you sell. We add the disclosure to the article.
Editing and rights
- We edit for accuracy, clarity and style. We may cut sections or ask for more proof.
- You approve the final draft before it goes live.
- We may update the article later to keep it accurate.
- Bylines use your real name and photo.
- We can decline a pitch or a draft at any stage.
Questions from writers
Do you accept paid guest posts?
Not through this page. Contributor articles are free to publish and unpaid. Any paid article on the site is labeled Sponsored, and its links are marked sponsored.
Can my author link pass ranking credit?
No. Your bio link and any approved company link are marked nofollow. This follows Google’s rules for guest posts and lowers the risk for both sites.
Can I use AI to write my article?
You can use AI tools to help, but not to write the whole draft. A person must check every fact, and you must tell us which tools you used.
How long until I hear back?
We do not promise a reply time. We are two people and read every pitch ourselves, so it can take a while. If you decide to pitch the idea somewhere else, please tell us.
Send us your best idea.
Send three headline ideas with the proof behind each one. Add two writing samples and the other items from the checklist above.
