Technical SEO

Technical SEO services for Google and AI search

We make your site easy to crawl, index and quote. We find what stops search engines and AI crawlers from reading your pages, then we fix it.

What we check and fix

Technical SEO is the groundwork under your content. When it breaks, search engines can miss good pages.

For speed we follow Google’s Core Web Vitals targets (web.dev). Main content should load within 2.5 seconds. The page should respond to clicks and taps within 200 milliseconds, and layout shift should stay at 0.1 or less.

We also read the AI side of your reports. Google counts AI Overviews and AI Mode traffic inside the normal Search Console Performance report (Google). Bing Webmaster Tools has a preview report for Copilot citations (Search Influence).

Each finding comes with a fix and a priority. You can hand the list to your developer, or we make the fixes on WordPress ourselves.

What a technical audit covers

  • Crawl and index audit: which pages Google can find, which it indexes, and why some are left out.
  • Site speed and Core Web Vitals: loading, responsiveness and layout shift, measured on your real pages.
  • Structured data: schema markup that matches what each page shows and passes Google’s tests.
  • Internal linking: clear paths to your key pages, and no orphan pages that nothing links to.
  • Redirects and migrations: clean 301 redirects, no chains or loops, and a full URL map before any move.
  • robots.txt and AI crawler access: we allow the bots you want, block the ones you do not, and check that your CDN settings match.
  • XML sitemaps: only live, indexable URLs, submitted to Google and Bing.
  • Search Console and log analysis: what Google reports, and what bots really request from your server.

AI crawlers, explained simply

Most AI companies run more than one bot. Some collect training data. Others fetch pages for search answers. Each one can be allowed or blocked in robots.txt on its own.

Run byWhat it doesIf you block it
GPTBotOpenAICollects pages that may be used to train OpenAI models.Your content stays out of future training. ChatGPT search is not affected.
OAI-SearchBotOpenAIFinds pages to show and link in ChatGPT search.Your pages can drop out of ChatGPT search answers.
ClaudeBotAnthropicCollects public pages that may be used to train Claude models. Search uses a separate bot, Claude-SearchBot.Your future content stays out of training.
PerplexityBotPerplexityIndexes pages so Perplexity can show and link them in answers. Perplexity says it is not used for training.Perplexity can stop showing and linking your pages in its results.
Google-ExtendedGoogleNot a separate bot. It is a robots.txt switch for Gemini training and for grounding Gemini answers.Google says your Search inclusion and rankings are not affected.

Sources: OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity and Google, checked October 8, 2026. Bots that fetch a page because a person asked, such as ChatGPT-User, may not follow robots.txt. Names and rules change, so we recheck them on every audit.

How a technical SEO project runs

The same four moves, scaled to the size of your site.

Crawl

We crawl your site the way search engines do, then pull your Search Console and Bing data.

Prioritize

You get a ranked fix list. Each item says what is wrong, why it matters and how much work it takes.

Fix

We make the fixes on WordPress, or brief your developer with exact steps and examples.

Recheck

We test every fix, resubmit sitemaps and check again after Google recrawls the pages.

Who this is for

Technical work matters most when something is holding good content back.

Good fit

  • Pages you care about are missing from Google or slow to get indexed.
  • You are planning a redesign, a platform change or a domain move.
  • Search Console flags Core Web Vitals or indexing issues you cannot explain.
  • You are not sure which AI crawlers your site or CDN lets in.

Not a fit

  • You want a perfect speed score more than a faster site for real visitors.
  • You want hidden tricks or special files that promise AI citations.
  • You want thin or copied pages pushed into the index at scale.
  • You need hosting management or a team on call around the clock.

What we do not promise

We do not guarantee rankings, traffic or AI citations. Nobody can. Technical fixes remove barriers, but they cannot make a thin page useful.

Google says AI Overviews and AI Mode need no special files or markup (Google). So we do not sell llms.txt files or special AI schema as shortcuts.

Lab speed scores are useful clues. We judge speed by what real visitors experience.

Technical SEO questions

For anything else about your site’s setup, ask us directly.

Should we block AI crawlers like GPTBot?

That is your call, and we explain the trade-off. Blocking GPTBot keeps your content out of OpenAI training but does not affect ChatGPT search, which uses OAI-SearchBot. If you want to appear in AI answers, keep the search bots allowed.

Do we need an llms.txt file?

There is no clear evidence that it changes AI citations, and Google’s AI search guide lists it as a myth. It is cheap to add if you want one. We will not sell it as a fix.

Will a redesign or migration hurt our rankings?

It can, when URLs change without redirects or content goes missing. We map every old URL to a new one, test the redirects before launch and watch Search Console afterwards. Short-term movement can still happen, and we tell you what to watch for.

What access do you need?

For the audit, Search Console access and a crawl of the live site are enough. To make fixes, we need WordPress admin access or a developer we can brief. Server logs help too, if your host provides them.
